Banana Split Smoothie
| Equip. type needed: Blender/smoothie maker, Juicer ((optional) - certain juicers can be used to make homemeade nut butters and rice/soy/hemp milks) |
| Smoothie: |
Topping: |
1 Frozen Banana
1/2 banana, sliced
1 cup Frozen strawberries
chopped nuts
up to 1/8 cup Peanut Butter*
Cacao nibs
1/2 to 2/3 cup milk*
cherries |
| 1 cup yogurt* |
Blend above items. Pour into cups. The smoothie needs to be very thick in order for the topping to float. Putting it in the freezer for a while may be neccessary.
When smoothie is ready place sliced bananas on top, then chopped nuts, cacao nibs, with a cherry on top
* Allergen options: Use cashew butter for peanut butter; try soy or hemp milk for milk (rice works but is a bit thin); use soy yogurt. Some folks may tolerate goat yogurt, but it's an acquired taste

| Acai Antioxidant Powerhouse Smoothie |
| 1/2 Sambazon Acai Smoothie packet |
1/2 cup yogurt |
| 1 banana |
1/2 cup Pomegranate (and raspberry) juice |
| 3-4 strawberries |
1/2 scoop protein powder |
| Put all of the items in your blender and blend until smooth. For additional antioxidant power I added 1 teaspoon of Nature's Plus Red Lightining to the drink. (Also I do buy commercially prepared Pomegranate juice rather than going through the effort of making my own) |
