Recipes
Here are some of my favorite recipes to whet your appetite and get ya cravin' some more!
Tangy Apple Juice
Equip. type needed: Juicer (my instructions on preparaton are geared towards someone using a gear style juicer -no pun intended- I personally have a triturating unit)
2 Granny Smith apples (remove seeds)
 1 kiwi (peeled)
 1/2 Mango (a little hard)(peeled)  1/4 lime (peeled)
1 small anaheim or similar chile pepper

Cut and peel items as needed.  You may not need to peel some fruits if using a centrifugal juicer.  If using a gear style juicer it may help to alternate between the softer fruits in the right column with the harder fruits on the left (or run the soft fruits first followed by the harder ones).  Remove seeds from apples before juicing as they are bad for you.  Strain the juice when finished if you want no pulp in it.
This makes about 8oz. of juice

Banana Split Smoothie
Equip. type needed: Blender/smoothie maker, Juicer ((optional) - certain juicers can be used to make homemeade nut butters and rice/soy/hemp milks)
Smoothie: Topping:
 1 Frozen Banana
 1/2 banana, sliced
 1 cup Frozen strawberries
 chopped nuts
up to 1/8 cup Peanut Butter*
 Cacao nibs
 1/2 to 2/3 cup milk*
 cherries
 1 cup yogurt*
Blend above items.  Pour into cups. The smoothie needs to be very thick in order for the topping to float.  Putting it in the freezer for a while may be neccessary.
When smoothie is ready place sliced bananas on top, then chopped nuts, cacao nibs, with a cherry on top
 * Allergen options:  Use cashew butter for peanut butter; try soy or hemp milk for milk (rice works but is a bit thin); use soy yogurt.  Some folks may tolerate goat yogurt, but it's an acquired taste

Acai Antioxidant Powerhouse Smoothie
1/2 Sambazon Acai Smoothie packet 1/2 cup yogurt
1 banana 1/2 cup Pomegranate (and raspberry) juice
3-4 strawberries 1/2 scoop protein powder
Put all of the items in your blender and blend until smooth. For additional antioxidant power I added 1 teaspoon of Nature's Plus Red Lightining to the drink. (Also I do buy commercially prepared Pomegranate juice rather than going through the effort of making my own)
